Since its inception in 1994 Futron has promoted involvement in charity and fund raising efforts to support both local and global needs. Last year Futron supported several charities, including Operation Project Sandy and the Wounded Warriors Project. For Operation Project Sandy Futron helped provide much needed relief items to the victims of Superstorm Sandy in the New York/New Jersey area.

The Wounded Warrior Project aims to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history. Futron raised funds to support this important mission in 2012 and are continuing our efforts into 2013.

This past year Futron celebrated ten year anniversaries for several of our employees. Angelika Bigelow, Matt Qureshi, Ron Eason, Scott McKay and Kafil Qureshi have each contributed greatly to Futron over the past ten years. We appreciate their service and dedication.

Futron Wins GSA GRITS II Contract!

Futron recently won a spot on the General Services Administration (GSA) Region 4 Integrated Telecommunications Services (GRITS) II contract. GRITS II offers government agencies significant savings on telecommunication services through discounted negotiated prices – at better rates than those offered by previous contracts. GSA customers within Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee can obtain comprehensive voice, data, and video solutions through GRITS II.

Supporting the Task Force for Business and Stability Operations in Afghanistan

Futron is currently providing 24×7 Information Technology support for the DoD Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO) in Kabul, Herat, Mazar Sharif and Camp Morehead Afghanistan. The mission of TFBSO is economic stabilization in order to reduce violence, enhance stability, and restore economic normalcy in areas where unrest and insurgency have created a synchronous downward spiral of economic hardship and violence. TFBSO creates stabilization by developing economic opportunities through a range of efforts, including encouraging investment by U.S. and international businesses, developing a country’s natural resources in a way that is economically sound and environmentally responsible, and assisting industrial development and agricultural revitalization.Futron helps ensure that TFBSO’s access to DoD Enterprise networks and services, commercial internet connectivity, and mobile networks are maintained.

Futron’s Safety and Risk Management Programs Validated!

Futron Incorporated’s risk management and safety programs were recently audited by The Hartford Loss Control Department. This audit covered the time period of November 15, 2009 to present. Futron not only passed this audit but received praise from the Hartford Loss Control Department regarding our proactive safety and risk management, which is demonstrated below:

“While conducting our survey we were especially impressed with several risk management measures you currently have in place. Specifically the following items stood out:

• Formal written contracts are in place with all subcontractors utilized by Futron that require subcontractors to provide Certificates of Insurance (COI’s) and warranty their work against all deficiencies and defects in materials and workmanship.
• Emergency evacuation diagrams were posted throughout the Virginia office to ensure safe evacuation of all employees and visitors in the event of an emergency.
• Construction employees have participated in OSHA training and have received their 10 hour or 30 hour cards.

Please continue your enthusiasm for safety and risk management!”

Futron, a Cisco Premier Partner, is excited to announce our entry into Cisco’s Physical Security ATP program. Our entry into this invite only partnership certifies that we:

• Are an existing reseller and systems integrator with experience designing, reselling, installing, and maintaining a full range of video surveillance and access control solutions.
• Possess services and capabilities associated with Physical Security-specific site surveys, device selection, device location, system configuration, systems integration, and complex system designs, installations, and end-user support.
• Are a Cisco channel partner that holds other existing partnerships.
