Futron delivered the Army Call 40 Telecommunications Infrastructure Installation in Afghanistan by designing and implementing a highly secure, mission-critical communications network in a challenging war zone. The project involved installing an Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic infrastructure to support NIPR, SIPR, CENTRIXS, and DARK communications across four Army locations. Futron’s execution included detailed verification surveys, engineering US Standards-compliant designs, and the construction of hardened manholes and handholes with rigorous quality testing. Advanced security measures, such as intrusion detection systems, concrete barriers, and hardened covers, safeguarded the infrastructure, while adaptive planning and rapid project relocation ensured uninterrupted operations despite evolving site conditions.
