Construction has begun on the new Chief of Mission Residence (CMR) project at the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti City, Djibouti. As part of our Worldwide Design-Build IDIQ, Futron was awarded a Task Order from the Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) in March 2018. We are demolishing the existing structure, building a new two-story residence, and performing associated site improvements.
In November 2018, Futron launched a Safety Award Program to ensure that our workforce understood the critical importance of safe operations on site. Our Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) proposed the idea and has seen the impact that our Safety Awareness training and monthly award has had on the team.
Our Project Manager and on-site team were pleased to recognize the winner of the December Safety Award, Mr. Hareseeh Kumar. Mr. Kumar was instrumental in helping to eliminate any hazards associated with lifting our office trailers over the compound fence with the 25-ton crane.
Futron has also recently been awarded projects supporting the Department of State OBO in Kolkata, India and Bangkok, Thailand.
