The Department of Interior (DOI) National Parks Services (NPS) has selected Futron to provide critical building facility services, including preventative HVAC maintenance and ultraviolet (UV) light installations, for the Salem Maritime (SAMA) and Sagus Iron Works (SAIR) National Historic Sites in Massachusetts. Together, SAMA and SAIR preserve over 600 years of New England maritime history, established in 1938 as the first National Historic Site in the United States. Futron is honored to be a part of the preservation of these important historical sites.
Over the next five (5) years, Futron’s certified and experienced technicians will provide a full scope of HVAC services, including annual maintenance and on-site emergency services, throughout 16 SAMA and SAIR locations.
Our scope of work provides climate control for both staff and patron comfort and for humidity control of museum curatorial collections. Our team has integrated UV bar lighting to work with the existing HVAC equipment, decreasing risks associated with the spread of COVID-19 and other airborne microbes for NHS staff and visitors, as part of our UV light installation scope on the project. UV rays suppress the breeding and emergence of bacteria, viruses, fungi, molds, and other harmful microbes within the air.
Futron maintains core capabilities in building systems services to meet routine, preventative, and on-going service needs for our Government customers.
